If you have followed ALL the options outlined below, including Factory Reset, then you will need to contact Samsung to arrange for a return...

PS: Ensure that your Tab has been on mains charge for at least 2 hours, before trying anything....

My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Model:GT-P3113TS
It died on me earlier so I plugged it in, The battery icon showed up it was yellow, it would flash from loading to charging about every 5 seconds.
It wouldn't let me power it on while it was on the charger, so I unplugged it and as soon as it turned on I'd plug it in, as soon I plugged it in it would say not charging and would power off by its self. It now will not even do so much as power on anymore.
I need help. Anybody?

Put your Tab on mains charge for a minimum of two hours.......and then hold down the power button for as long as it takes to re-boot...

Sometimes when an android device goes completely dead, the only way to bring it back is to charge via USB on a computer. I know it doesn't make sense but I've seen it work numerous times on various android forums.

Unfortunately I've been "drafted" into the "can't get my tablet to turn on" club.

I was using the tablet at low battery level with the cord plugged into the bottom of it. The second time I got a low battery warning the screen dimmed. Shortly after that the tablet briefly showed a Samsung logo and shut down entirely. I then discovered that the USB end of the cord hadn't been plugged all the way into the charger, thus not making good contact.

After making good connection on the USB end the tablet went into a cycle of showing a completely grey battery emblem with a asterisk like emblem in the center then the asterisk/buffering icon disappears and a yellow bar progressively filling up to half the battery emblem from the right "negative" end (there's also a row of throbber dots when the yellow fill is occurring). The screen then goes blank (back light goes off as well).

I left it on the charger for over 12 hours. I've had no success getting out of this repeating cycle. Long and short power button presses, with and without holding the volume down button, don't initiate any sort of restart or reset menu. When I disconnected the cable the tablet went completely dark and wouldn't respond at all.

A few minutes before starting this post I plugged the tablet into my Windows tower. The "charging indication" cycle resumed and the computer is repeatedly alternating between the tones normally associated with connecting and disconnecting a USB device (identified in the "Found new hardware" pop-up as OMAP4430). The timeing of the connect/disconnect tones don't appear to be sycronized with the "charging indication". I'm not seeing any sign of the tablet's built in or removable SD cards in Windows Explorer "My Computer".

try :
on the Tab USB connection cable (Tab connection end) clean out any dust in the cable connection & the Tab connection (preferably with an Air Duster )

leave your Tab connected to your PC (use a back of the tower USB socket) for an hour

connect your Tab to the supplied wall charger for an hour

disconnect your Tab from the charger & hold the power on button in for a minute or until it turns on

Thank you for such a prompt response.

When I read your reply the tablet had been connected to the computer about 2 1/2 hours an was still cycling through the charging indication (with 1/4 then half the icon turning yellow). A few seconds after I disconnected the cord from the tablet the screen went dark. I blew air into the connector on the tablet and the cord, even though there was no obvious contamination. I also tried holding power button for a full minute with no effect.

Reconnected cable. Computer appears to have resumed "Found new hardware" cycling (speakers temporarily muted - those sounds got "old" after a hour), but cycle on tablet screen didn't resume until I pressed power button. Still no tablet start up or reset/ response but there is a faint ray of hope. After pressing the power button the yellow bar on the battery icon progressed in 1/4 increments to the full length of the icon. After a short period the brightness stepped down then the screen went dark (no further cycles, or at least that I could see with the back light off).

I'm wondering if each of the short periods showing the charging indication (including back light operation) was depleting the charge so low the tablet was getting stuck in some sort of loop.

I'm going to leave the tablet on the computer a few more hours then switch to the charger..

The brief charging on the computer interruption must have knocked the tablet out of the loop. I checked again six hours later and the tablet successfully turned on and indicated 100% charge. I operated it long enough to show 50%, charged back up to a 100% reading and operated it again down to 60%. I've now got it on the charger again.

I have downloaded a movie from Google play onto both of childrens Samsung Galaxy tablets GT-P3110. My daughters movie downloaded and I checked that it plays back ok. My sons downloaded but then when I tried to play back, the screen just stuck on a blank screen with the cursor going round and round. I tried to shut down to try again and the screen has gone completely blank and I cannot switch on or off!! Please help - we are going on holiday tommorrow which is why I have downloaded the films.

Three times I've been away from my tablet when it used all of it's charge faster than I was expecting.

It gets into a loop where it briefly shows it's recharging, shuts down and a few seconds later repeats the seqquence over and over. To me it's a complete mystery why it's programmed to run the charge all the way back down indicating it's charging instead of quietly recharging ten percent or so with a completely black screen.

I haven't discovered A procedure I'm confident about being reliable to escape the loop.

This last time I managed to get the Android restart screen following the early portion of the instructions on page two of:

The "Did You Know?" thread

I used the volume and power buttons to accomplish a restart instead of the "Hard reset" to factory settings.

I managed to get the tablet running long enough it appears to be in standby mode. The display went to black before giving me a "low battery" warning or a turn completely off pop-up. During the brief period it was operating it indicated 0% charge

Now it's quietly sitting with the cable connected to the computer without the recharging screen cutting in and out. I'll be leaving it alone for a while hoping it will recharge a few dozen percent. I'm concerned pressing any of the buttons might throw it back into that loop.
