samsung tab 2 7.0 wont turn on
Posted 25 September 2012 - 12:02 PM (#1)
Hello all. this may be an old topic but its new to me
yesterday my tab had a full charge when i left for work. after work i pull out my tab from my case it does a full boot (usually it just pops out of sleep mode) and it screen is very dim and i get the "please connect to charger" msg.. after that it turns off. I go home and charge it, but it doesnt turn on. I held the power button for like 2 min, nothing. I am about to call samsung because it seems like it might need servicing. Any suggestions? Thanks.

on your Tab 2 7.0, is your Model Number GT-P3100, GT-P3110 or GT-P3113 ?. is your Android Version 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.0.3, or 4.0.4 ICS ?
'device spoofer' is for rooted Tab's only, is your 2 7.0 rooted ?, & if so, what did you use to root it ?

Try putting it on the charger for a while. The battery could be totally dead.

I had the same issue last night. I read some forums and fixed the problem by plugging it into my laptop and then pressing the power button while tapping the screen. The battery image came up and after charge, was ready to roll again.

I'm on another forum for another Android tablet that I own. Some people on their have had a problem where the battery goes so dead that the only way to bring it back to life, is to leave it hooked up to a USB spot on a computer. I know a computer won't charge it but technically it will, just very slowly. I'm not sure technically speaking how this works, but if charging it in the wall doesn't work this might be worth a try. You would have to leave it on the computer for a few hours.

I've seen this problem before on other battery operated equipment, it seems to be caused by the battery being totaly discharged. If the battery has no charge at all (switches its self off while running)then the charger won't recognise the battery. There needs to be a very small amount of charge in the battery for the charger to recognise it. Hence if you can trickle charge the battery with your computer USB then the charger will recognise the battery and charge it.
We used to 'Flash' seemingly dead powertool batteries with another battery which would then allow the charger to recognise them and restore them.

You're a moderator so you should have enough experience to know how bad the general public is on forums. My favorite is when they come back under a different username because they couldn't log in lol!!
