If you mean the Samsang Galaxy Tab 2 7", I would compare it more to the Kindle Fire (but better). How would you compare the Tab to a product that you don't have the specs for yet? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Because i think the Ipad will do basically what the Original Ipad does.
What do you have to say about the Kindle Fire compared to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.7"

What do you mean, you can't read pdf documents with the IPAD? Check this: http://www.labnol.or...der-apps/13807/

Also note that you can read pdf files from emails and the safari web browser.

I am not sure right now. I know there was the white student edition that came with the docking keyboard, but other than that is there still a regular white version? I have one ordered that is coming, but it was only offered in black, so thats what mine will be.

Something tells me you'd never find a white one anyway. Maybe the student edition didn't sell well so Samsung repackaged them as just white tablets??

I have the white version and there is no difference between this one and the black/grey version. Except that it looks way better :p
I don't know where are you guys from, but there are plenty of them for sale, here in Romania. Maybe the tab is selling better in your country and the white version is always out of stock...

I also looked at Google's Nexus 7 & read there is a problem with the glass coming loose & lousy sound.

I haven't read about any glass issues, but that's what a warranty is for I guess. And as far as sound goes, it's hard to produce good sound from speakers with less than 1/4" of surface area; so it's more a matter of which tablet has sounds that sucks less.

Other than that, it depends on what it important to you. The Nexus 7 does not have an SD card slot. For me, that alone was a deal-breaker despite the fact it is superior in many other aspects.

Apparently not gorillaglass, but does use a scratch resistant glass: http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1844200

I use a screen protector and a hard case. The screen protector also greatly reduces fingerprints.

Best Buy was selling white ones for Black Friday but they seem to be all gone now - at least locally. I got the Student Edition this fall and was tempted to get another one as an Xmas gift.

corninggorillaglass.com says that the 10.1 has gorilla glass, but it really doesn't specifically mention the 7.0 tablet so I wouldn't bet on it.
