Hi all

I recently purchased a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (Model number GT-P5110) and managed to get most things working on it however I'm not able to get iPlayer working.

I've downloaded both the iPlayer and latest version of Flash from Google Play.

I've tried using both the preinstalled internet browser and Dolphin (which I tried in both Android and Desktop User Agent modes).

When I get to the iPlayer screen i can see the initial image of each video however when I click the triangle to play I always get an error message 'This Content Doesn't Seem To Be Working'

I have checked on the Adobe site and it says I have Flash 11 installed.

I have tried on multiple iPlayer videos and other wifi networks and get the same message

Any ideas?

Thanks

Rev

I have the tab 2 10.1 and running ICS 4.04. I am unable to run adobe flash. I had previously installed player 11.1, however it is installed but sites state my flash player is not installed? I also visited adobe and it appears they stopped supporting fashion ice cream sandwich? I went to download flash player from playstore and adobe is no longer available?

Please suggest solution as this was main reason I chose droid vs apple for my tablet

None of the videos play on my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. My camera and video playback stopped working after the update to 4.0.4. I have installed Adobe Flash from the archive. It will play a video once but if I close it and re-open it won't play it again unless I uninstall and re-install Adobe Flash. My camera just gives a "Camera Failed" error or black screen. Either way it doesn't work. Called Samsung. They are "supposed" to call me back. That was 2 days ago. Very frustrating! Please help!

Thanks

If Adobe flash is the problem, follow the "how to Install Flash" here:

View Postwarmrain, on 22 October 2012 - 05:19 PM, said:

I too had the same problem of being unable to play Adobe Flash content in websites on my new Galaxy Tab-2 10.1 (GT-P5110, Android 4.0.4) but can confirm that after installing Flash with the .apk file identified above, Flash videos on websites now run fine. I am just using the stock browser that came with my Tablet. Thanks BrianG!

Just to recap, and some hints which may help others:-

(1) Adobe Flash was removed from later versions of Android by Samsung but can be reinstalled up to Android ver 4.0.4 .
(2) You cannot install it via the Google Play (Market) Store -- it will just give you "unavailable" or "incompatible".
(3) Download the Flash 11.1.115.12 apk file above. It will probably appear in your \sdcard\download directory.
(4) Prepare your tablet by entering Settings--Security--UnknownSources and allow installation of Non-Market Apps.
(5) ALSO PREPARE by closing down all the running pages/tabs of your Internet browser. Check it is really stopped by opening Task Manager (pop it up by pressing the up arrow at the bottom of the display - or via Settings--AppManager--RunningApps)and closing the browser down if it is not stopped.
(6) Navigate to the .apk file in the \sdcard\download directory (I used the inbuilt MyFiles file management program) and tap the .apk file to install Adobe Flash.
(7) A panel will soon pop up saying Flash installed. Tap OPEN button on this panel to go to the Flash Manager. Read carefully what the options mean by tapping on the ?/Help button. As Adobe Flash will no longer be updated past Android 4.0.4 --and therefore no more security fixes, if any, -- I chose "Never" to load anything "Locally" as a best attempt to reduce my risks.
(8) Next, REBOOT/RESTART your Tablet [Long press the power button for the options panel]. This may help your O/S and Browser to recognise you now have Adobe Flash (and is a precautionary step born of years using older Windows programs!). NOTE: Your tablet is NOT switched off when you quick press the power button -- it has just gone to sleep, and omitting this step perhaps accounts for some of the variable results others have had after installing the Flash player.
(9) Open the stock browser that came with your tablet, and hopefully it now runs Flash content on websites! I have noticed some video does run slightly slowly with a hint of jerkiness. I think it depends on the complexity of the content and particularly the on screen size of the Flash video. I suspect the performance of the current CPU in the tablet is near its limits, particularly for larger screen formats.
(10) Go back to Settings and reset Security to block Non-Market App installations.

Regards and thanks again Brian!

The first thing you need to do is download a browser which will support Adobe Flash Player.

Google Chrome and Opera Mini browsers DO NOT support Adobe Flash Player
Firefox Web browser & Dolphin web browser DO support Adobe Flash Player

trying to install Flash Player on another web browser would surely mess it all up

BBC iplayer has not been updated for all Jelly bean devices.
Neither my S3 or Nexus 7 are compatible yet.

Try loading the standard iplayer through your browser.

Is there a version of Adobe Flash Player that is now available for Galaxy 2 10.1 with 4.1.1 jellybean OS? If yes where & how do I find it to instal it on my tablet? If not what are some of you using in Flash Player's place?

Thanks,

I have read all the posts having to do with installing flash player on my tab, I watched the video posted in the thread, and I downloaded and jnstalled every version of the flash player apk file listed on the Dev-Host web site one at a time referred to in the postings, and it does not work. When I go to CBS' s web site and try to play streaming video, it doesn' t say I need flash player anymore, it says loading video player 100% for a second and then it just sits there, nothing ever plays. Any ideas? I have tried refreshing the page and I restarted the tab in between installs.

Mod Edit: Well since you are asking the same question as those who've asked about their flash issues, I'm going to merge this post with the other topic regarding Flash Player issues. :pardon: In other words, there is no need to post a new topic when one has been started already, and is still in continuation. Please note the forum rules on the Board Index. :good:

I started a new thread because it was locked, and I am asking a different question in that, what is outlined in the instructions is not working. I thought the purpose of this web site was to help people with their problems. Guess not.

I appreciate why you would want to post a new topic, I didn't realize it was locked until after the fact.

Also I don't think we would be much help if we didn't have a forum to address our problems. Right? :pardon:
