Galaxy Tablet 10.1
Is there a way, or an app, to 'link' indivual documents with an icon on the desktop?
I would like to be able to display a document by touching the link without first having to navigate to it via file manager, reader or word processing app.
I have this facitity on my Huawei phone.

ES File Explorer File Manager :- https://play.google....251bGwsMSwyLDNd
open ES File Explorer, browse to the Folder/File with the individual document in it,
long press the document, scroll to & tap 'Shortcut'
return to HomeScreen, you should have a 'Shortcut' on there, to tap & open
(may have to select a default app, to open the document with, the first time)

Bart Laroc:
Many thanks for fast reponce: your instrcutions worked like a charm.
I feel much more comfortable about using the Galaxy Tablet now that I have thius level of control over how I set up my reading.
Do you know of any app that will delete unwanted widgets from the display panel with the + is invoked from the home page ?

you might check with Kies :- http://www.thegalaxy...dpost__p__39147
to see if the ICS update is available yet in NZ, this has an option to 'Disable' stock apps,
see : HOW TO UNINSTALL (disable) BUILT-IN APPS (WITHOUT ROOTING) :- http://www.thegalaxy...dpost__p__46828
