With the ambitious hope of having my firmware run on the latest version, I stupidly updated it with low battery using Kies. To make the long story short, I bricked my tab. It's showing me the PC to mobile image, a triangle with ! in between them. I searched the web on how to unbrick my tab and found this vid : How to Unbrick Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 . I believe it worked bec it's now giving me a different screen, that's something! Here's the catch, it's now boot looping and I CANNOT HARD RESET IT.

I'm afraid to use ODIN for I might mess it up a little bit more. My tab is made in Vietnam but I am using it in the Philippines and it is not from Smart. I already checked samfirmware but I can't find the CORRECT firmware, CSC and PDA files.

Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :)

How-To Install the 'GB_Stock_Safe_v5' JQ1 Gingerbread 2.3.6

Download: 'GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip' (287.9 MB) :- http://d-h.st/oDP

The Installation:

Extract the 'GB-Stock-Safe-v5.zip' file into a folder of your choice

view the 'Install GB_Stock_Safe_v5_01.pdf' a few times to see the process

'Install GB_Stock_Safe_v5_01.pdf' :- http://d-h.st/6MB

Once it's done booting up, you should get your Tab in a new, Factory-Fresh JQ1 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Condition,
together with the necessary setup screens (& PIN entry, if your SIM card is PIN protected)

Not all FROYO tablets received official upgrades. Mine.... although unlocked, was one.

You could try a custom Rom , Forum search OVERCOME ROM.

Or best to sell to someone and buy a new Tab 2.

I have just recently gone through the experience of re-installing Android on my GT-P1000 (Galaxy Tab).
I live in Thailand and probably have the same series of hardware as you.
So the experience is fresh on my mind and gives me confidence in all the advice I am about to give you.

You absolutely SHOULD use Odin to get out of this trap. If your tablet can go into download mode,
then your table will cooperate with the basic steps.

A: You could have a stable version of Gingerbread installed within 15 minutes.
B: If you want to install Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) you can go even further.
This would result in:

STEP 1: rooting your tablet + adding Clockwork Recovery (CWR)
STEP 2: installing the Overcome ROM on top of stock Gingerbread. (using CWR)
Overcome ROM is a customized version of Gingerbread.
For most users this is simply a stable foundation necessary to go to STEP 3
(If all you want is Gingerbread, you don't need to implement beyond installing
stock safe Gingerbread.)
STEP 3: Using CWR to flash an ICS version on top.
(I recommend CyanogenMod 9.1 from personal experience.
It is the last stable release. Everything after that point is still
under development and will bring you bugs and headaches you are
probably not looking for.)

(I provide links on the XDA-DEVELOPERS.COM forum to point you in the right
direction for that. But at the very least you want to do the first step in that
process in order to install Gingerbread.)

BEFORE YOU THINK OF DOING ANYTHING ELSE:
CONFIRM THIS: Can you get the Tab into "Download Mode"?
Test this now even if you are not ready to immediately go further.
We need to know whether you'll be able to use Odin.
a) With power off, press Volume down + Power button.
b) When the Samsung logo appears, replease the buttons.
A big yellow triangle appears along with a caution message
to not interrupt "the target"

IF SUCCESSFUL: Congratulations. Power off the tablet and charge it!!!!
IF NOT: Let us know. I would suggest going to the Q&A thread.
Do some research first and if necessary ask for further help
At XDA-DEVELOPERS.COM
http://forum.xda-dev...play.php?f=1764

I THINK YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.

The following post takes you through the basics of the process.

What to do:
1) First visit this thread on XDA-DEVELOPERS.COM:

http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1881981
This post on XDA-Developers.com explains the basic research and steps:
http://forum.xda-dev...2860&p=28093609

2) (Optional but recommended)
Register in the XDA-DEVELOPERS forum so you have
an ongoing relationship with this site. It's free and there's no spam.

3) Download the GB-StockSafe-v5 Gingerbread. (You will use Odin to flash it.)
http://d-h.st/oDP

4) (if you plan to upgrade to ICS)
Download the instruction manual for the OVERCOME install process.
This is a necessary first step before you proceed with ICS.
https://docs.google....YzQz/edit?pli=1

Now that you have downloaded the essential pieces:

Visit the follow link at XDA-DEVELOPERS.
-Disregard the links contained in that message. Most of them are dead.
(If you need any additional downloads, they are all listed for you in the first
link I provided you at the top.)

-Read the instructions starting with "First upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.3"
(Disregard this poster's advice: "Do not use the GB stock safe package from overcome."
I and many other users have been entirely successful using it! And using it makes
things very simple.)

ONE LAST PIECE OF ADVICE:
If you do go all the way to ICS (and I recommend that you do):
Flash ICS twice!
(The first flash will rearrange the partitions.
The second flash successfully copies and installs all the system files +
configures ICS.)

Please feel free to post questions to me.
And please let us know how things go!
You are welcome to stop at Gingerbread and ask for further encouragement and/or clarification before proceeding.

Be at peace. You can survive this experience and have some pleasure and satisfaction at the end!
