I have a verizon based gt, 7", sch-1800,v 2.3.5. Having issues with extremely slow response, freezing and screen going black. I only use for facebook, email, internet search and playing apps, I.e. words w/friend, scramble and drawsomething. Tablet has been to samsung for repair twice, they says its good to go but I am still having issues. Is it my tablet or is this a common ocurrence?

Interesting. That's what I just signed up to find out. Except I'm through T-Mobile and have a SGH-T849. It freezes, shuts itself off about 5 times a day, slow start-up, slow internet (as in slooooooow if not freezing up), and is generally becoming a huge pain. I also only use it for facebook, internet searches (not much because of said slowness and freezing), and apps like words with friends, draw something, and square. I apparently still have plenty of room on it. And I have noticed in the last few days the battery is draining like crazy. I used to have to charge about once a week... now I'm to a couple times in the day (even if I'm not actively using it). Hoping to find out something to do to fix it.. this thing is barely over a year old.

Ive sent it to samsung twice for freezing up and going black, its been reset everyway possible. When they sent it back I couldnt connect to data plan. They blamed verizon, verizon blamed them, but nobody could fix it so verizon gave me a new one. Just got it friday and already having same issues. When I first got my original tab a year ago, I had way more apps installed, bounced from one to the other, on and of internet, even took it to czech with me, it was a dream! Then all of a sudden at 11 months old, it started going real slow, I uninstalled a lot of apps and moved a bunch to sd card thinking I was using too much internal memory. Then it started frezing up, going black, I had to restart it just about every time I went from one app to another and now the new (factory reconditioned, guaranteed like new) one is doing the same thing right off the bat. It is so frustrating, now I get to send this one back too, good thing im paying for extended warranty.

strange that the common Factors for 'MadMom' & 'Sapo' are Facebook, Words with Friends etc

Facebook & the related apps are notorious for the problem posts on here
(see any model, Games, Apps, Accessories & Themes - Facebook Problems)
(google for 'Android Facebook Problems' gives 465 Million results :fool: )

the best advice is to un-install any downloaded Facebook related apps & not use the supplied stock Facebook apps,
instead access any Facebook program, through your Tab web-browser & see if the 'Freezing' & 'Slowness' improve
(if not, try un-installing other downloaded apps & test to see if any are causing the problem)

Probably not ...... but it's easy to confirm by uninstalling it..... you can always put it back on...

If all else fails, save your data, and do a Factory Reset...
