But what the heck. Since I have the Galaxy now, I'll ask it here.

Are movies that are purchased and downloaded from the app that's on the Galaxy, locked to the particular device? Where are those files saved?

Is there any source for purchasing movies, that are NOT locked to a particular device? I mean, is there any place to buy an electronic copy of a movie that isn't locked to a particular computer?

As a minimum, I'd also be interested in such a site that would at least allow me to transfer from one device to another.

I may change devices as technology improves but I prefer not to lose all my purchased movies. For instance, every movie I purchased for my iPad are wasted, if I abandon my ipad for some other device. Is there any video source where you can buy the electronic version of a movie and have it play on any device?

Oh! And I mean any site where it's "legal". ;)

Thanks,

If you buy a movie from Samsung movies (Acetrax) you get a pc copy as well as a tablet copy and those copies don't expire. However, the site isn't great on film choice.

I have only purchased one movie, so far, just to see how it works and how it played on my Galaxy. I used the movie app, which took me to some site. I guess it's Acetrax? I don't know for sure.

Are you saying that movie download gave me 2 copies... one for the PC and one for the Galaxy? OR, is there some special thing I must do to get the PC copy. I don't even know where the movie is. ;) Where are these two movies stored?

The site you used before was probably the Google play store app. They only last 30 days. Samsung movies don't expire but they are expensive.

You get a pc copy and you can watch on 3 other registered devices (with Acetrax) Do everything on your pc. It's a long while since I used it but it works with your Samsung account. When you puchase the movie you confirm your model. You then get the pc version as well for free. Both are held for you on your pc in your Samsung account until you want to dowload, then you have options as to which you want to download to. I still have Inception on my lap top from 2010.
You will find it simple when you get into it. Hopefully things will be the same, like I say its been along while since I used it so I hope I'm not talking rubbish
