The GT7+ has a GPS but it's the Wifi model.

How do you use the tablet as a stand-alone GPS without Wifi?
I've downloaded Mapquest and noticed it also has Google Maps.
How does it work without Wifi?

Has anyone used it yet as a stand-alone feature?

Thank you!

Off-Line Navigation is very much a personal choice, Google Maps has recently added Off-Line Mapping (needs WiFi to initialise),
Navfree: Free GPS Navigation (Navfree USA: Free Satnav) is a Free Navigation app, worth a try :- https://play.google....WQuT1NNLlVTQSJd
CoPilot Live Premium (USA, Europe, UK) is a paid app, generally considered the best :- https://play.google....Co-Pilot&c=apps
[CoPilot UK is used & recommended by myself & Wizz (Super Moderator) perhaps some European & USA users can post on these]

Thanks for the replies.

I should have made it more clear...
Wasn't questioning the GPS software used.

Has anyone used the GPS function itself as a GPS device (considering the unit is Wifi based)?

The iPad (all Wifi versions) has the GPS function but it's useless without Wifi and can't really be used as a standalone GPS unit.

GPS works fine with no WiFi or 3G data connection

checkout 'GPS Test' :- https://play.google....251bGwsMSwyLDNd

take yout Tab outdoors with WiFi turned off, app still shows me 10 satellites, 10 connections
never lost gps connection up to now on any journey (Driving or walking),
& Camera can be set to record location of photo's & videos with GPS,
also the compas uses GPS data

not sure what other GPS function you require

Thanks for replying.

I wondered if I could use the tablet as an oversized standalone GPS which I can based on your experience.

Hopefully it'll be accurate and good enough as a GPS device.
