I get a popup when i power up that says, "Previous Update Package downloaded. Install update now? (During update device cannot be used).

I'm not aware of any updates. None of my apps have auto updates. Everything i have installed has completed properly. This popup doesn't even say what the program is, nor do i know where this downloaded to.

Has there been some sort of update to the OS? Why am i seeing this popup? I haven't ever seen this before and am leery about installing something I'm not expecting.

I guess it was. I went ahead and just installed it and took a chance. It was an OS upgrade and when I check the release was indeed 4.0.4. So I guess that's what it was. Not sure what was changed but what I can see, I'm not crazy about.

The SW keyboard is different (no biggie). But some of the Widgets behave differently. And some that I used before are no longer the same size. Haven't found anything much better and what's not as good isn't a big deal.

Where can one get a description of the changes for this release?

Correction, just connected to Kies and am now getting a new firmware. Version now 4.0.4: Install/Update went as expected

Wiki android releases, but one thing is the update improved UI performance and performance I myself have noticed the change on my galaxy tab 2 7.0 a lot smoother.

Yes i got my Tab 2 5113 10 days ago and i got the update last night. Seems nice and smooth compared to prior to update. The only thing i dont like is it changed the touch sound to a friggin drip. It wont let me change sound of the screen touch sounds at all. So i found the UI sounds (they are .ogg files) but i cant rename them. Is there a root folder that has the script of where i can change which file it plays manually (without rooting)? For examp;le, the file it plays is TW_TOUCH.ogg and want it to play TW_sip.ogg

Hey I've been looking all day for any info about the update my Tab 2 10.1 GT-5113 got last night. It was 64mb in size and I'm still on 4.0.4 but i couldn't tell you if the build number changed. I can't be the only one that got it, but other then when i hit a link it now asks me to choose which browser to use, stock or the chrome which it never did before (even when i first got it)

So does ANYONE have an idea what this update did? I received it last night (6th Aug 12) around 6pm local time.

I have two Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablets. One is stock and the other is rooted with CleanRom v1.1 (4.03). I wasn't able to take advantage on the rooted device of the two flashed updates to 4.04. On the stock unit the interface is more refined and seems to run a bit faster.

I'm in so deep with the rooted device with development, I may just wait until 4.1x before make the move. Here is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS running as a chroot image along side Android Linux in the other core.

I had gotten the update to 4.0.4 about 2 weeks before this last update on the 6th of August, so this isnt about 4.0.4.... I already had it and THEN got this update.

Kind of disappointed that this forum has no real activity. I mean over a week and then the 1st reply to this with almost 500 views? Sorry but this is a joke of a forum.

SamFirmware lists two GT-P5113 Versions of Android 4.0.4, P5113UEBLG2 & P5113UEBLG5,
Samsung do not offer any "Whats New" lists, so unless users like yourself check the Settings, About Device,
& make a note of the listed :

Model Number, Firmware Version, Baseband Version, Kernel Version, Build Number

& then post the information with any changes they have noticed its impossible to know what the differences are

this forum is based on user information input,it is most likely that of the almost 500 views to your post,
the users who are on the P5113 are like yourself, & did not make a note of the data in the About Device,
with the fist update, to compare with the changes in the second update,
& have not noticed any changes in the daily running of the Tab to list

Just received a large update over wifi.

Had to enter my name again and gave option for restore of backup.

Everything looks good, possibly one app gone from main block but I have All Share Play which I do not think was there before.

Other bonus now have the free 48GB Dropbox space. Was on to Dropbox the other day had to be already on Tab to get space.

I have been a droid user for years, Motorola products and decided to join Samsung. I have the tab2 10.1 and like others here, was told to install an update. I was unable to find any reference to what was being updated or can I find this information after updating? I have been on 4.04 and just checked after the install and I am at same build.

II saw this title post: " Samsung begins Galaxy S III Jelly Bean updates, 15 additional models scheduled"
that say: "...Samsung also released a full list of devices that will be upgraded to Jelly Bean".
Does anyone know anything else?.

I get the msg "software upto date" when i look for any upgrade. I live in Pakistan!
Any idea whats going on?

I got the update yesterday afternoon and now my apps are crashing, just touching it crashes and also flashes constantly at one point. It freezes when i try to turn it off as well.

Has anyone else experienced this? I got my tab in August for my 21st. I love it, just wish I can use it without freezing.
