is it possible to upgrade my tab's memory from 16 to 32/64G?

All memory on the Tab 8.9 is internal, and it's just not practical to try to increase it. You would need to have purchased the 32Gb version to take advantage of a capacity over 16Gb.
It is possible to connect your Tab to a PC though, and transfer files between the two....

You may have already spotted these, but just in case.
There is an adapter that allows you to connect USB sticks or SD cards to the docking port. Just use file manager to transfer the current films you want to watch onto the tab from a large capacity USB or SD card (or lots of them, the choice is yours.
These adapters often refer only to tab 10.1 but they work fine on my 8.9.
