try a Factory Reset :- http://www.thegalaxy...8971#entry28971
if that doesn't cure the problem, take/send your Tab to Samsung/your supplier for repair

awesome, thanks.
I am concerned its a screen thing. When I wake the tab up the dots and lines don't appear for awhile and then slowly the come in to the picture, video, or web browser. Thanks for your help. I am going to give this a shot. I am not excied about potentially loosing data... heres hoping the back up works!

Hi all,
My galaxy tab also has problems with the LCD. Samsung Colombia does not want to give me any support because I bought it in USA. I am highly dissapointed of Samsung, and it makes me think I should have bought an Ipad, which has worldwide warranty.
Any ideas? Many thanks to you all and think twice before buying Samsung.
Regards,
Diego

I have a galaxy tab 8.9 (not sure how similar are they hardware wise but they seem quite the same, mine is just smaller).
I had the same problem on my new 8.9 like after 2 week's or so, after some researching on screen tablet's I found that there seems to be some tape that holds the LCD cable.
So I opened up my tab found the cable that has LCD written on it , removed the old green tape (it was worn out) , after that carefully with gentle pressure on the cable I put new tape (It doesn't matter what type of type i guess) And that's it problem gone. (No idea why did they had to use tape to keep secure the LCD cable)
Hope that helps since I didn't find anything on the Internet regarding my problem, and I had to fix it myself. And I did go to a samsung service they said that the whole screen needed to be replaced. SO no idea why this easy fix is not on the Net (or maybe it is and I just didn't find it).
