not without more information, which Model Galaxy Tab 7.7 do you have GT-P6800, GT-P6810 or Verizon SCH-I815, what Android version was it running,
have you attempted to update it, changed the rom or rooted it,
what events led up to the Black Screen, were you using it & it went Black, was it on standby & would not turn on, just a black screen,
was it powered off & will not turn on, is it turned on or off at present or powered on or off, have you tried connecting it to the mains charger
& checked if the screen comes on, then waited an hour with it on the mains charger & attempted to turn it on again,
maybe with a long press of the power button (at least a minute or until the screen comes on)

There is an app for preventing the screen from shutting off. As it comes from the factory there is a max of 10 min without keystrokes or screen touches. I also wonder if Nazrul got his screen back. This is about what I experienced last night. The screen was black with no sounds as well, just as though it would not power up. If Nazrul is still reading this forum, try holding the power key down for fifteen to twenty seconds. It makes the tab reboot and that was all it took last night for my 7.7 to receive a new lease on life after I thought it had experienced sudden infant death.

The app is: "Screen Timeout"

I have Galaxy tab 7.7 (P6800) recently updated and now running with ICS. I found screen gone black when I had kept the tab idle for few hours. Battry was above 80%. After pressing the power key for several seconds the tab rebooted. It happend twice today. Both time it was idle for more than 1 hour and there was some miss calls too. Is there issue with my tab? why does it has to reboot? is it some kind of sleep mode and is there any way i can trun it on with out getting it to reboot. Please help.
