Hopefully one of you lovely people here can help me....

I am currently using a PC at home and want something more portable for use whilst at work.
I also want to show potential clients photos of our existing/old work and installs.
A print out of a quote would be an advantage but not essential...an e-mailed quote to the client, there and then would be good too.
I have a digital camera that gets passed around to different guys to take photos of completed work, so the ability to up-load
pics from it to the tab would be good or I dont mind investing in a different camera if there is a better way of doing it.

I have a mobile phone but dont want a smart phone, but I do want my e-mails whilst on the move,
A lot of my work is with entry systems, gate motors and garage door motors, so access to the internet is very useful for
technical specs and programming guides to some of the more rare and obscure motors we come accross at times.
I also want all of my technical specs from the dozens of books on gate motors, I currently have to carry around in paper form
loaded on to a tablet.

I also want the ability for the tab to have the same info on it as my pc (ie sync when I get home)....Or any other ideas anyone??.
I want to be able to show live cctv cameras we have installed on the tab, again this is just internet connection requirement but fast refresh is good!!.

Sooooo.......... On to my question I dont own a tablet yet and after much research, I feel the samsung galaxy tab is the way
forward....But which one would be best for what I am trying to achieve here above (there are so many to choose from)...
Therefore I was thinking the GT-P5110, Anyone got any better ideas....Thank you for reading and hopefully helping me....
Thankyou....Mark.

various Galaxy Tabs will fill your needs,
Photo's no problem, print out & quote depends on if you are near a wi-fi printer, or if you have installed a Fax App (check forum search),
there is also the option to save a quote as a .doc & attach to email,
digital Camera, see Did-You-Know WiFi UPLOADING OF YOUR PHOTOS FROM YOUR CAMERA TO YOUR TABLE :- http://www.thegalaxy...dpost__p__44720
no smart phone ?, is it capable of being a wi-fi hotspot ?, if not the GT-P5100 with 3G might be a better option for Internet connection when on sight & between sights,
paperwork can be copied as .doc files if they are also digital or scanned in as images from a scanner,
sync is possible with most PC programs, although the easiest are the newer programs available to run on PC & Android ie: Google Drive (formerly Google Docs), Picasa, Google Cloud etc,
live cctv showing, depends on your Internet connection at the time, wifi would be no problem, might be choppy on 3g depending on your location

the New Members Section is meet & greet section, I will move this post to the 'Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Forum GT-P5100 GT-P5110 (GT-P5113 usa) - Users Help & Solutions Section'
so you can post again in New Members, when you have your Tab & we can give you the Welcome list .... :D

I am also a business owner and use a Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. I used to use a PlayBook. May I recommend the Galaxy Tab 8.9 to address the following:

Portability - at 8.9" it's smaller than an iPad, but bigger than an eReader.

Show potential clients photos of your work- 1280x800 creates a great pixel density to show photos.

I recommend DropBox - I use it to sync my estimates, invoices, statements, project plans, budget sheets, images of proposals, concepts, logos, and yes... even Quickbooks database for my accountant. When you add a new file to your dropbox, it will sync to all your devices and computers automatically. If you take a picture of your install with your tablet, it will sync automatically. The Dropbox app for the Android is a hundred times better than the one for the Playbook.

I also recommend Gmail for email, calendar/agenda/reminders/meetings and appointments.

I recommend Polaris for reading your technical specs and use Dropbox to sync it with all your devices automatically.

I cannot speak for the 10.1" Tab because I personally feel it's too big. In fact, I was at my daughter's graduation last night and saw someone taking pictures with that and it was so big everyone could see what was on the screen. A 7.0" would be too small for showing photos (I use a 7.0 Plus). This is why I recommended the 8.9".

Hope that helps.
