My wife just returned from a vacation to Ireland and took quiet a few photos on her Kodak easy share camera. I would like to put them on her tablet but there is no USB slot. How do I transfer the photos?

That would work well if you have the micro sd usb adapter but if his wifes tab is an original then it has no usb host support which then you have to go through the agonizing process of unmounting your primary micro sd, mount the msd with the pics on it, then save it to your devices memory, then swap out the msds again, and move the pics from your device storage to your primary sd. Which is real horrible for me cuz i got my GT7 in the otterbox that you have to dismantle to get access to the micro sd. It seems easier to jus slide the msd into a bluetooth device even a cell phone and transfer your pics through bluetooth. Unless you got the usb host mode hardware and the 30pin msd usb adapter

Greetings

Following a recent trip to Australia where I used a microSD card in an adaptor in my camera, having to take it out, swap cards in my original GT-P1000 7" Tab to transfer images then swapping everything back, I found it to be a bit of a pain, especially as we were there for quite some time and took hundreds of photographs. On my return and following the purchase of a new camera I discovered the best bit of kit so far,an eye-fi card, this clever little SC card has built-in Wi-Fi that uses your wireless network to easily transfer photos directly to your Tab (or PC if you wish). The card can also upload directly to sites such as Flicker and Picassa if required. I no longer have to swap cards, a great bit of kit.
Regards
Jim H

Hey Jim, I'd be interested to know which model tab you have and if you think this will work with all tab models.
I suspect that some are limited by their firmware.

Greetings

I have a GT-P1000 bog standard Tab, this card works with almost any android device and there is an app available in Google Play, I use it mainly with my PC but as soon as I start travelling I change the setting to send it to my Tab, as I stated in my previous post this is a tremendous bit of kit and not very expensive, around £30 from Amazon, I bought a 4GB class 6 card and it does the job.

Regards
Jim H

Hi Holmesteader, I've just installed the app on my tab (pm sent to you ).

I've watched several different demo videos on YouTube and this looks like a brilliant device FOR EVERYBODY.
I'm ordering it now from Amazon and I'll report back in a few days.

Thanks for sharing :good:

An alternative would be to create a DropBox account. Then the pics could be transferred to a computer setup with DropBox. The pics would automatically be uploaded to your DropBox account. Once uploaded, you would be able to access the pics from the Galaxy Tab or any other device with a DropBox client or even using just a browser. As a bonus, you could share the pics so that friends & family could also view the pics.

Good alternative strolin, most of us have these type of accounts Dropbox, Imageshack, Picasa etc already but I think what the members are looking for is a direct camera to tab solution for when they are mainly away from a pc, on holiday etc and this looks like just the ticket to me.

One thing to consider. Once you have sent a photo to your tab it will no longer be on the card.
So for those of us photography buffs, who need their RAW data this may present an issue.
