Does anyone know how to use the Adobe Digital Editions on the Galaxy 2 Tab so I can download library books?

On your PC, download & Install Adobe Digital Editions to your PC :- http://www.adobe.com...igitaleditions/

Create an Adobe Account :- https://www.adobe.co...&nf=1&loc=en_us

On your Tab, goto the Adobe Sign In link & sign in with your Adobe Account :- https://www.adobe.co...&nf=1&loc=en_us
(Digital Editions automatically detects the presence of your device & offers to Authorize it with your Adobe ID)
{your Tab needs an Internet connection for this}

I expected that when I clicked on the attachment (MOBI format) the Galaxy's built-in Kindle App would open the book for me to read. Instead I get an error message saying "There is no application installed to open this file."

Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

you do not need Adobe Digital editions. If the books are Epub books you need the Overdrive App. You can download directly to your tab from this app. Almost every book in the libraries I use in Texas are in the Epub format. The Overdrive app is available in Google Play.

I am asking anyone who uses Aldiko with the Tab 2 7.0 to let me know how it is working, especially the "linking" features that move you from place to place within a book.
The Aldiko developer says that the new version 2.1.0 is not ready for Ice Cream Sandwich, so I installed the previous Aldiko version as recommended. Many of the eReader functions work for me, however in my installation, the Table of Contents, Bookmarks, and Links within an ebook fail to respond to finger taps. The "back button" takes one out of the book instead to the last prior location.
I am trying to determine if the problem is the app itself, or if Aldiko does not like the GT-P3113, or is it my setup? Aldiko is installed on my internal SD card with plenty of space.
Is anyone else finding that Aldiko eReader is not performing well with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3113? Or, if it is working great, that is good to know, too.

Most eReader software has either a button or an option to reverse the view ......... you have obviously used this without realising.

Checking any screen buttons or menu options should reveal the answer.....

Also look for night mode......that reverses the screen colour to black.

I have the Tab 2 7.0 (Version 2.1) and have read several books using Aldiko with no problems. I just tested the ability to navigate through the table of contents and to and from bookmarks without any difficulty. When I hit back key on the Tab it exits the book and returns me to the catalog, but the same is true on my Galaxy S phone.

I also use Aldiko with both the Tab 2 and the Tab Plus with several hundred books on each.
Works without any issues. Best reading app available.

Can you possibly expand a bit on exactly how to download a book in ePub format using the Overdrive app? I've been unable to do so, as the indication from the library I am borrowing the book from indicates that my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is an incompatible device with the ePub format. Thanks.

I use Aldiko on my Tab, with no problems I have seen. I'm using the latest version available (or at least I did not look for any special version) and it works with book I have tried to open in a compatible format.

If you have a lot of books, I find that calibre is a nice organizer and converter.

I second your praise of Calibre. It is a must-have app.

Your message encouraged me to try again. It seems that Aldiko (V 2.1.0 - free) works fine with 7" tablets. Thanks for your reply.

Hi again :D Can someone tell me please do I have to Root or Rom my Tab 2.7.0 ICS 4.3
I have many eBooks in Epub Mobi and they all worked in my Ereader Kindle x3 and still do can someone tell me please a fully working Ebook Reader App for my Tab that has full functions I have tried (and Paid for) IReader Alidikon and Kindle for Android and whilst they work for some "files" they will only work for the ones I already paid for and others I swap and or have converted in "Calibre" I have Calibre Companion installed) I wanted to install MobiPocket eReader for Android thinking it was a good simple ereader that has been around forever but when I read up on it" it sounds like the same deal it will read Mobi and EPub but only certain files? I am not about to pay Amazon or these others twice to read their stuff! can someone please tell me a good solid plain old "Ereader App" that I can install that works on a GT-3110 or do I have to Rom or Root it, thanks guys :)Dazza

there should be no need to Root or Rom your Tab 2 7.0 P3113 4.03 ICS, to enable eBook reading,

Calibre is able to convert most eBook formats to Epub, the supplied stock eReader should read them,

I prefer Aldiko, & transfer my converted Epub book files to my Tab 'Download' folder,
then open Aldiko & browse to the 'Download' folder. select the Epub book files, then 'Import' then into Aldiko,

the only problems you may have, is with eBooks that have DRM protection,
although Aldiko is able to obtain an Adobe DRM certificate, with your Adobe Account

Thanks Bart I will have to reinstall Aldiko : 80 I have the (4) eReader, ePub, Calibre Converted files in the "extSDCard EBooks Folder" Not (Lost Dir what ever that is)

Assuming Aldiko is reinstalled, how do I move (a)File into Aldiko?

Are you talking about the "Download Folder" in the ES File Explorer App? If so how do I download the files to Download ES File Explorer App using the USB connection as the ONLY way I can get into extSDCard and recognised is through the Galaxy Tab's own "My Files" method I have not Managed to use the ES File Explorer App yet :D Dazzler

if you open Aldiko, tap files, browse to external_sd & tap, browse to the folder you have your ePub files in,
check the boxes, by the ePub files you want in Aldiko, than tap 'Import' (bottom of your screen)

try the external, but Android newer versions have problems with external SD, so if it doesn't work, switch it to an Internal SD folder ...... my Gingerbread is ok ..... Old is Good
