Help! Tab frozen during software update

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me.
I've not checked for sw updates since i got my tab 10.1until today. So i did and my tab seems to just be hanging on the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 screen.
I can't turn it off or anything and it's been like that for about 5 hrs.
Will it still be updating after that amount of time?
Any help gratefully received.

Hi angel, thanks so much for your reply.
It won't reset. I get as far as the two little android icons and i chose the one on the left with the box but nothing happens. The screen goes blank but no menu comes up at all.
