Ice Cream Sandwich *** Has Arrived Anything relating to ICS & 7.7

"Adopters of the 7-incher shouldn’t however wait for automatic prompt messages to encourage them to install the ICS update,
because the upgrading process will not happen over-the-air. Instead, you’ll have to download Samsung’s Kies PC software,
connect your tablet to a Windows-running desktop or laptop and look for the Android 4.0 install package.
If this whole thing seems like too much trouble for you, or you’re just not fans of Samsung’s Kies program,
the guys over at SamMobile have been kind enough to make the firmware update available."
Model :GT-P6800 --- PDA : P6800XXLQ1 --- Version : Android 4.0.4 --- Date : 2012 June : CSC : P6800OXALQ1 ---
Country/Carrier : Open Austria --- Regions: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
Model :GT-P6810 --- United Kingdom / Ireland --- 2012 July --- Android 4.0.4 ---P6810XXLPK --- P6810OXALPK
"As you’ll notice by visiting the SamMobile page, the update is unfortunately not yet available for all Galaxy Tab 7.7 models.
In theory, only users from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, and the UK owning a GT-P6800 or GT-P6810 tablet will be able to flash the new software package at this time."

Thanks
Updated it and looks like everything is working fine. I do get an error message in kies though. Saying this version isn't companionable or something like that.
So, hopefully, this will be fixed when the official US version of the ics is out.
Looks like things are running a lot smoother. But the rotation of the screen is still lagging. It's faster, but the apps or icons disappears and then reappears a after the screen rotates.
If you flip it 180, the screen doesn't rotate at all. It just flips real quick.
Doesn't look as good as the iPad animation.

Can you guys go to this site and see if your keypad pops up when you try to type in your email / password? I get nothing.

Sorry for late reply. Have tried both this forum and zazzle and the ketboard is working fine. OK, im going to ask a really daft question. Are you tapping on the box for user name / password ? because the keyboard only pops up once you tab the box and see the cursor flashing in it. (im not trying to teach you how to suck eggs!!)

Dont worry about Kies. If you want to get the official rom for your location through Kies, just flash back to the HC rom for your region (available from xda) and you will be able to update through Kies, although you could just get the rom for your region, flash with Odin and you will also be back with Kies too, so plenty of choice !

Hmm. This sucks. It doesn't work for me. The box is outlined but no keyboard. It tries to pop up but it just disappears. (The small keyboard icon in the bottom tab pops up for a quick second). And it only happens on zazzle. Weird.
But thanks for the reply. Looks like it's just me then and not ICS. I'll just wait for the official US release and see if that would fix it.

Hi again. I found out after I posted tham Messaging was crashing when opened. So I went into recovery, did a factory reset and cache wipe and that fixed the problem. Maybe a wipe will fix your issue ?

I thought the US version of the 7.7 was LTE (4G)? You must have an import from another contry ? Really need the CSC code from your device to pinpoint the correct firmware or if you can say where you bought it that should help.

I have the Galaxy Tab 7.7 P6800 with 3g\wifi.
I would like to know where I can download ICS ? [australian]

If you want it "Now", a european version can be downoaded for sammobile.com and flashed using Odin. Use this option if you are happy to use other region ROMs and are moderatly compitent in computer use. Not being rude, but, dont go down this path if you are unsure of what you are doing. There are plenty of guides available on sammobile and xda if you want to give it a go, but, again, know what you are doing first and make sure your computer is working 100% with Kies drivers installed.
Just to whet your appetite - ics on the tab is fab-u-lous !
