I just got a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Unlocked GT-P6800. After removing the SD card from my old, original 7" Tab and inserting it in the new one, I then took out the SIM card from the old Tab and put it in the new one. Immediately, in the upper left corner of the black screen in red letters appeared "ODIN MODE' and below that in white letters "PRODUCT NAME: GT-P6000 CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL". In the middle of the screen is the large, green Android character and below it in large white letters is "Downloading...
Do not turn off target!!" (These letters are green).
It's been almost two hours and nothing's happened. I don't know what to do. I don't know if the Tab will even turn off and I'm afraid to try, but I'm also afraid that something's very wrong and my screen may get etched from having this same message showing so long.

PLEASE, somebody, can you help?

It looks like the Tab is trying to install an OS update over a Custom Rom, or has detected custom rom files....

If, as you say, this is brand new and you have no knowledge of a Custom Rom installation.......return it to your Seller, or an Official Samsung Service Agent for repair under warranty.....

If on the other hand your old original Tab 7 had a custom rom installed......remove the MicroSD Card from your new Tab.....and re-boot, to see if that solves your problem....

I have a feeling though, that you haven't given us the whole story here ???

This was a brand new, unopened, Tab. I'd just received it in the mail minutes before inserting the cards from my old Tab. There is no Samsung Repair Center in the U.S. and mailing a Tab back to China costs $97.18 each way. The original Tab 7 had no custom rom installed.
The micro SD didn't cause the problem anyway, it was the AT&T sim card.

Fearing I needed help right away, I finally thought to call the store in Nevada from which I'd bought the new 7.7 Tab and, fortunately, the customer support guy who was not even a technician fixed the problem. He told me to turn the Tab off. It wouldn't turn off normally. He said to reboot it and so, by holding the power button down for about 15 seconds, it rebooted. After that, everything was fine.

I did give the whole story! I was panicked with a brand new $600 Tab that was frozen after I'd none nothing more than change the language and put in the two cards and was instructed with two exclamation marks NOT to turn it off. At the same time I was afraid that leaving it on until I got help could permanently damage the Tab.

Anyway, all is now well so thanks for your intended help.
