there is on the 2 10.1 GT-P5113, but it you will need to purchase an adapter. Found here: http://www.samsung.c.../EPL-3PHPBEGSTA
And you will need an HDMI cable to go to the back of your TV.

thanks very much. Interestingly, however, the USA site says the adapter plus HDMI cable is compatible with Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, but the UK site says it isn't. That's what I meant when referring in my original post to confusion. If only there was someone at Samsung to talk to . . .

interestingly only 'colormannz' post #6 is the only member claiming to have it working (somewhat)

unfortunately they only ever posted the once & does not state which Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 they have
(although I suspect its a GT-P5113) ..... no other user has claimed any success

I've just been reading a very long discussion on this subject..... the outcome of which appears to be this.....

1) The Tab 2 7.0 has no HDMI output hardware on-board, so it never will output HD .... EVER

2) The Tab 2 10.1 does have HDMI on-board, but the only model that has been "reported" as working is the GT-P5113 usa
All other Tab 2 10.1's have failed to output HD ...

..... and as I said previously, even if you do succeed in establishing an HD connection, it is highly likely that apart from home HD movies you have recorded yourself, any commercial movies containing DRM will be blocked from outputting to a TV, to preserve copyright.

I'm looking to buy a Samsung galaxy tab (or Note if need be) with the below technology, but not sure if any of the Galaxy Tabs have the capability?

Thanks, Wizz, well this is disappointing but perhaps in time Samsung will develop an adapter that does connect a UK-bought GT P5110 to an HDMI TV. Seems to me rather an important aspect of connectivity to have omitted in a mobile device. At least I consulted the forum before buying a quite expensive adapter, so I'm grateful for that.

So for the rest of you folks who think the HDMI cable does not work with the P5113 (Tab 2 10.1 USA version), see this post: http://androidforums...tml#post5530915

New to the forum & Galaxy Tab.

I'm trying to connect my GT-P5100 to my LG HD tv. I have the Galaxy Tab HDTV Adapter and when all connect I get the "bell" sound to show connected by nothing shows on screen just a no signal sign. I've tried search for a solution but nothing works. I've tried on both a LG & Sony tv with same problem. Can anyone suggest anything to help?

I have had the same problem. I have emailed Samsung and the reply I got was that with the Tab 2 series, you cannot connect it to a HDTV unless it is a Samsung device with a SMART HUB. Which basically means you either buy a new TV, bluray player or set top box from Samsung or you cannot connect it to the tv! Fantastic! Needless to say I am not amused but they did say they may rectify this problem in the future. Ill believe it when I see it!

Isn't this similar to using the Samsung Wireless HDMI adapter?

To a point.....

This requires Allshare and looks like the Note II is the only Tab that it is compatible with....

The other drawback is that HDMI suggests displaying HD video, and if these are commercial movies containing DRM as opposed to home movies....they would not display due to copyright infringement firmware that Samsung adheres to very strictly....

That's if you get it to work satisfactorily in the first place.....

New here but I have done some researching on this before I made my purchases.

Ok, with all the questions regarding the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and HDMI hookup to the tv I figured I would show you.

My items

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113TSYXAR Android 4.11 Jelly Bean (U.S wireless only version)

Samsung EPL-3PHPBEGSTA HDTV Adapter (Bought from Amazon)

12 foot HDMI Cable

Vizio 47" HDTV

You have to have the Tab's 30 pin power cable plugged into the HDTV Adapter for it to work, The Tab instantly recognized the connection and only asked for my audio preferance. It does charge the Tablet at the same time so, no slowly dying battery after streaming movies all day.

It does cut off about an inch and a half off both sides on my Toshiba and Vizio 47" TV's. (Not sure why but not unheard of)

It show both TV's receiving a 1080P stream from the Tab.

I have streamed from my TV Portal App on my Tab to the tv and watched quite a few shows.

Hope this helps others that question if it works or how well it does with picture quality.

I thought you might like that....LOL
But actually, I did it to prove no photo shopping or tricks.

I have streamed Netflix, Hulu Plus, Crackle, movies and tv shows from TV Portal(watched Battleship last night), as well as videos that I saved in my dropbox (they were.avi's)

I see no reason why it would not stream a saved DVD from your micro sd card or Tab to your TV. (still trying to determine the best program for this)

Hi all, I'm having a problem with my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. I'm trying to play my media stored on the tablet to my HD tv. I tried using AllShare but it only plays part of the film - probably because my home network isn't great. But I tried to plug my tablet into the tv with a usb. The tv recognises the tab but doesn't show any of the media. I have other usb hard drives which work fine.

Any ideas?

do you have a 2 10.1 GT-P5100, GT-P5110 or GT-P5113 ?

If your media contains DRM, it will not play on your TV due to copyright control.....
