I tried to connect my new Galaxy TAB 2 10.1 GT-P5110 with the Samsung LED TV (6500)using the Samsung HDMI adapter but the Tab does not stream to the TV. I have connected the power cable to the HDMI adapter as well.

I had been to the retailer today.Tried with two different pieces of the SAMSUNG HDTV adapter (just in case if the earlier one was faulty) to connect the new GT-P5110 first to a Sony HDTV and then to a Samsung LED. (ensured that the external power supply was connected to the adapter). It did not work. In both cases the TV was sensing the HDMI port but there were no display and the message came up as "No Signal".

Hi

Is it possible to connect to a "NONE HD TV" with my TAB 2 10.1 using the "Samsung Galaxy TV OUT Cable"?
This is the cable which has the RED, YELLOW & WHITE type connection.

I understand the TAB 2 10.1 will connect to an HD TV using the "Galaxy Tab HDTV adaptor" and a HDMI Cable which is not a problem.

Its only sometimes when iam away the hotels still have the old CRT type TVs with only the RED, YELLOW & WHITE or Scart connections.

Has anyone been able to connect their TAB 2 10.1 or 7 using this type of connection?

Many Thanks

I have also been to a local retailer to try and connect my Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5110 and the Samsung HDTV Adaptor EPL-3PHPBEG to one of their TVs. First Samsung LED, ensured also everything was connected correctly, Adaptor to GT2 - Power supply to Adaptor and HDMI to adaptor and TV and yes IT DID NOT WORK. Got the same message "No Signal". The retailer then tried Samsung’s AllShare App, that connected with no problem via their wireless network (Not the HDMI Adaptor). After that we then tried it on another HDTV and it did not connect again. As the retailer had the first Tab 10.1 on show we tried the adaptor with this and connected it up to the same TV... Plugged the 30pin in to the Tab and WOW like magic it came up on the screen in an instant. What was on the Tab was being shown on the TV (First Gen Tab 10.1 not the Tab 2). So the conclusion from both the retailer and myself was this adaptor EPL-3PHPBEG is only compatible with the Tab 10.1 and NOT the Tab 2 10.1. Before going to the retailer I tried it at home on my Panasonic and LG TVs and both DID NOT WORK. What is interesting is that on "Samsung Direct" you can buy this adaptor EPL-3PHPBEG and the only Tabs they say it will not work with is the 7.0 (P1000, P1010) or Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (P3100, P3110). I have written now to Samsung to see what their view is on this adaptor and if there is a new version of this adaptor coming out. Will post my findings when Samsung come back. So in short the only thing the retailer said is I and everyone will have to wait till Samsung release the new version. If anyone has got this Adaptor working on a Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5110 I would be very interested in knowing how.

I am from New Zealand and bought a 10.1 tab 2 in US recently and had difficulty finding out what hdmi adaptor to use . I bought EPL-3PHPBE locally. It works but often locks up when unpluging . I hold power and vol button and restart. If I disconnect power to adaptor sometimes ok.

shame you don't mention which Tab 2 10.1 you have --- GT-P5100 GT-P5110 (GT-P5113 usa)

Great you got yours working with the HDTV Adaptor. I have noticed on many US reviews they show the Tab 2 configured different to the UK version. The only thing I can think of is as you have a US version of the Tab 2 perhaps the configuration is not the same and allows the adaptor to work! perhaps! But good you got it to work.

I have same problem with the HDMI adapter on the Tab 2 GT-P5110. The only response I have had from Samsung is that "in theory it should work". I hope you get a more informative response!

I have checked this further with the helpful people at Amazon.es and they have contacted Samsung and been told that the HDMI adaptor will only work on the original 10.1 and will definitely not work with the Tab 2 10.1. So either a new cable or a firmware upgrade is needed from Samsung for the Tab 2. If anyone knows anymore on this, please post.

My update from Samsung Support Team was as follows:

Have you downloaded our All Share from Samsung Apps?
If you require any further assistance, please contact Samsung again and
we will be more than happy to help.

Bit of a joke really, if this person new just a little about the Samsung Tab 2 they would have known it already comes pre installed with AllShare. That AllShare requires a Wireless connection with a DLNA compatible device to connect! well that was what i was told by my local retailer. Could be wrong! Lets hope a new cable comes out soon.

see the 'COMPATIBILITY' list (bottom right hand corner) of the Samsung Link for the 'HDMI Adapter EPL-3PHPBEGXAR'
http://www.samsung.c..._Sheets_FIN.pdf

only states compatibility with the 'Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113TSYXAR'
no mention of compatibility with the GT-P5100 or GT-P5110

So it seems that the Samsung HDMI Cable works ONLY for the GT-P5113 model and not for the GT-P5100 and GT-P5110...or not?

Hello from Spain (Europe). I have de same problem, I tried to connect my new Galaxy TAB 2 P 5110 with the Samsung LED TV SAMSUNG 3D Led UE46D8000 with Samsung HDMI adapter but the Tab does not stream to the TV. I have connected the power cable to the HDMI adapter as well. I can see that the problem in Europe its the same?. I was looking for Galaxy Tab Accessories in USA and there are two: Galaxy Tab™ HDMI Adapter EPL-3PHPBE and Galaxy Tab™ HDTV Adapter EPL-3PHPBEG, the last, it's selling in Spain, and IT DID NOT WORK. If anyone find something that we can do please let us know. Greetings from Spain, and I hope that I have understood.

Hi. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113. I am unaware whether to buy the EPL-3PHPBEGXAR adapter, as I am unsure if it will work. The compatibility sheet provided claims it will work for the GT-P5113TSYXAR tablet. I am unaware if this is my tablet, (my build number is IMM76D.P5113UEBLE4). If not... has does anyone have any suggestions for what will work?

hey all, i also have this problem.
I have the GT P5100 model .
after many fustrating calls to samsung & visits to JB HIFI & harvey norman i can tell you that these models are not compatable with hooking up to your HDTV .
im so disapointed as thats the reason that i purchased one & the fella who sold me it also sold me the HDTV adapter & told me that it will work no worries!!!
.
The most fustrating thing has been trying to convince the very people who make this tablet that it wont stream to a tv as advertised & that the retailers who are selling these things have no idea that they dont!

THERE IS NO COMPATABLE CABLE OR ADAPTER FOR THIS MODEL TABLET ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD ( FEELS SO GOOD TO GET THAT OUT :))!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i recieved this email today from samsung.

Hi Ben,

http://www.samsung.c..._Sheets_FIN.pdf

The link you have sent, is not from Samsung Australia. Unfortunately, the HDMI cable (it is different from Tab 1) for Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5100 is not available from Samsung Australia now. So, the HDMI cable you have bought from JB Hi fi is not the right HDMI cable for Tab 2 and not compatible. If JB Hi FI has told you it is the correct HDMI cable for Tab 2 GT-P5100, that information is not correct.

You can contact our Samsung store 02 8076 7777 to inquiry about the availability of the HDMI cable (it is different from Tab 1) for Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5100 later.

Thank you for contacting Samsung Mobile Support.

I WISH I HAD BROUGHT A ASUS...........................

New to the forum & Galaxy Tab.

I'm trying to connect my GT-P5100 to my LG HD tv. I have the Galaxy Tab HDTV Adapter and when all connect I get the "bell" sound to show connected by nothing shows on screen just a no signal sign. I've tried search for a solution but nothing works. I've tried on both a LG & Sony tv with same problem. Can anyone suggest anything to help?
