From reading around various reviews, it seems that TV out was left out of the tab 2 7.0 presumably to keep the price low. Samsung has said their TV out module from previous models do not work, and I've tried to use one of those RCA cables that attach via headphone jack and there is no TV out there either. So, it seems like the hardware to allow this is missing. Hopefully I'm wrong and someone will find a way, but I'm not too hopeful.

If the Samsung HDMI adapter has a power socket.....you may have to apply power to it to enable it to work......

Please also remember that, should you get it working, you will also be subject to DRM ...... so any copyright material that you do not have a license for will not display...

As well as power to HDMI adapter, I had to plug in music player cord to the dvd player/surround sound unit (I dont know what it is called), the HDMI cable was plugged into tv (panasonic) and then to Galaxy 10.1 tablet. music player cord plugged into tab and dvd / surround sound music player port. av - HDMI 1, and the sound unit extension in is music player. volume controlled on tv. New Zealamd.

[edit] now all you need to do is tell everyone which Tab & Model Number you have & what Android Version you are running

Hello, does anybody know which hdmi dock / cable will work on the gt p3113 to connect to a tv or videobeam? Thank you

If you go to the Samsung site and then to the P3113 tablet and then to the accessories for the P3113 you will see that there is no video output accessory available,

Anyone know why Samsung sells a dock specifically for the GT P3113 with HDMI out port if the Tab 2 doesn't support HDMI out. Bought this item only to find out it's useless for what i need. Just a rant!!!! Thanks

I know; annoying isn't it.

I suspect the dock was made for the Tab plus, which was the forerunner (and much better version) of the Tab 2. The plus had HDMI, more memory, autofocus camera, faster processor for a measly $50 more (us). Take my Tab 2 and 50 bucks and give me a plus anytime.

Going through some old papers, found a sheet that came with my GT (P3113). Tells how to optimize HDMI performance!!!!! Says look for firmware updates. This is what misled in the first place to buy the dock. Because of this kind of stuff my 10 inch tablet is not Samsung.

Hi I'm looking for a HDMI lead to plug into my gt-P3110 galaxy 2.7.0 to tv, I don't want a docking stand just a lead to tv option, I've got 1 for my galaxy sii which has a power socket on the side with works great, but different plug so can't use it on tab.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Brit

The only method I've found for displaying video from my GT-P3113 to a tv is through the app called Doubletwist. It will send video and audio from any file format it recognizes (.mp4, .mp3 etc.) to a DLNA compatible device via wifi. Many smart TVs and streaming media devices support this format. In addition, it will also send video and audio to an Apple TV, using Airplay.

I think the app was free (as a media player), and the add-on for streaming video and audio via DLNA and Airplay was $4.99.

You would use the streaming media player or smart tv with DLNA support to browse those files on your Tab. For Airplay, it works the same way as it does on your iPad/iPhone, it is initiated from your Tab to the Apple TV.

Doubletwist does NOT display your Tab's screen, just music and video files.

Well my p3110(HK version) can only display video on TV only when i use the build-in video player with the MHL cable, but file format that it can recognize is not so much(just mp4,rmvb,3gp etc.).
I wonder if there are any video players can share screen to tv or what.

My understanding is that you are "out of luck". Did you read post #4 & post #19 that Bart Laroc linked?

But if you find a way, please let us know. You'll make lots of people happy.

I've just been reading a very long discussion on this subject..... the outcome of which appears to be this.....

1) The Tab 2 7.0 has no HDMI output hardware on-board, so it never will output HD .... EVER

2) The Tab 2 10.1 does have HDMI on-board, but the only model that has been "reported" as working is the GT-P5113 usa
All other Tab 2 10.1's have failed to output HD ...

..... and as I said previously, even if you do succeed in establishing an HD connection, it is highly likely that apart from home HD movies you have recorded yourself, any commercial movies containing DRM will be blocked from outputting to a TV, to preserve copyright.
