Please also remember that, should you get it working, you will also be subject to DRM ...... so any copyright material that you do not have a license for will not display...
As well as power to HDMI adapter, I had to plug in music player cord to the dvd player/surround sound unit (I dont know what it is called), the HDMI cable was plugged into tv (panasonic) and then to Galaxy 10.1 tablet. music player cord plugged into tab and dvd / surround sound music player port. av - HDMI 1, and the sound unit extension in is music player. volume controlled on tv. New Zealamd.
[edit] now all you need to do is tell everyone which Tab & Model Number you have & what Android Version you are running

If you go to the Samsung site and then to the P3113 tablet and then to the accessories for the P3113 you will see that there is no video output accessory available,

I suspect the dock was made for the Tab plus, which was the forerunner (and much better version) of the Tab 2. The plus had HDMI, more memory, autofocus camera, faster processor for a measly $50 more (us). Take my Tab 2 and 50 bucks and give me a plus anytime.

I think the app was free (as a media player), and the add-on for streaming video and audio via DLNA and Airplay was $4.99.
You would use the streaming media player or smart tv with DLNA support to browse those files on your Tab. For Airplay, it works the same way as it does on your iPad/iPhone, it is initiated from your Tab to the Apple TV.
Doubletwist does NOT display your Tab's screen, just music and video files.

My understanding is that you are "out of luck". Did you read post #4 & post #19 that Bart Laroc linked?
But if you find a way, please let us know. You'll make lots of people happy.

1) The Tab 2 7.0 has no HDMI output hardware on-board, so it never will output HD .... EVER
2) The Tab 2 10.1 does have HDMI on-board, but the only model that has been "reported" as working is the GT-P5113 usa
All other Tab 2 10.1's have failed to output HD ...
..... and as I said previously, even if you do succeed in establishing an HD connection, it is highly likely that apart from home HD movies you have recorded yourself, any commercial movies containing DRM will be blocked from outputting to a TV, to preserve copyright.

Galaxy Tab 7" wifi & 3g (GT-P1000) Gingerbread 2.3.3
