I use my tablet to track my family tree on ancestry.com, can I connect the tablet to the flat screen TV to display the results?

I purchased the Samsung HDMI adapter yesterday and it does not work. Several on another forum had the same result. The user manual states: "Supports HDMI/MHL connections to connect electronic devices to high-definition televisions (HDTVs) and displays". I wonder now what?

I've just been reading a very long discussion on this subject..... the outcome of which appears to be this.....

1) The Tab 2 7.0 has no HDMI output hardware on-board, so it never will output HD .... EVER

2) The Tab 2 10.1 does have HDMI on-board, but the only model that has been "reported" as working is the GT-P5113 usa
All other Tab 2 10.1's have failed to output HD ...

..... and as I said previously, even if you do succeed in establishing an HD connection, it is highly likely that apart from home HD movies you have recorded yourself, any commercial movies containing DRM will be blocked from outputting to a TV, to preserve copyright.

Applied power-rebooted-off/on etc. and nothing. Talked with Samsung support and they had no info in their system but were going to test the Tab 2 7.0 themselves with the current hdmi adapter and call me back with the results. You would think at some level someone at Samsung would know what works and what doesn't..

* From Samsung Support...

Just received the call and they have been testing the Tab2 7.0 in the support dept. (no one else must know the answer) and I have been officially told that the current 30 pin hdmi adapter "Does Not Work with this tablet"! They have no idea if a new adapter will surface or when.

Fascinating. I just clipped this from Samsung website, "Sorry, there are no accessories available on Samsung.com for this product at this time. Please try back again soon. "

I can see that the HDMI adapters out there are not supported on the tab 2 7.0, but is there an adapter that will allow me to play the movies I can download and play on tab 2 7.0 on a TV in non-HD mode (what you see on the tab2 7.0 is what you get on the TV)?

okay i have read through the posts and cannot find the answer to my problem, so here goes... I have a samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 model gt-p3113
I have purchased the multimedia dock and the hdmi cable, i hook it up to my tv's and it does recognize there is something at that port, but only says no signal. I have the power connected, the tab in the dock, and hdmi plugged into the dock and the tv. is there something i need to do on the tab to get it to show up? I am trying to play tv shows from droid tv on my flat screen.
Any help would be great.

When I did my research before buying my GT-P6210 7.0 Plus (running 4.0.4 now!), I read that HDMI support was discontinued for the Tab 2 7.0, that was part of the pricepoint of 250, along with other downgrades. I hope you all can get it working though. All the 150 dollar cheap-o tablets all work great with hdmi out, as I have personal experience with that.

Is there an HDTV Adapter for the tab 2 7.0. or what do you use to connect to a flat screen. Thanks

There is no accessory shown for the TAB 2 7.0 which connects to a cable with RCA plugs.. Some Tabs do have an HDMI cable accessory but not the 2 7.0.

Seems the p3113 will not work with HDMI, part of the process of making it cheaper. I anyone hears of an upgrade or app to make hdmi work please let me know, thanks

Just for giggles, I tried hooking a video/audio set of RCAs via the headphone jack (plug has 4 metal bands and there are 3 RCAs; red, white, yellow) and no go. I didn't think it would work since I've read nothing about this feature, but there you go.

I want primarily to watch movies on my Tab and browse the net, what is the easiest way for me to utilise my Samsung TV in doing this?..

What lead do I need to buy that would give the necessary connectivity?

From reading around various reviews, it seems that TV out was left out of the tab 2 7.0 presumably to keep the price low. Samsung has said their TV out module from previous models do not work, and I've tried to use one of those RCA cables that attach via headphone jack and there is no TV out there either. So, it seems like the hardware to allow this is missing. Hopefully I'm wrong and someone will find a way, but I'm not too hopeful.
