Posted 28 April 2012 - 05:24 PM (#2)
I set a password for my galaxy tab 7.0. I locked the screen and I locked the motion too. When I push the unlock button I have to type the password but the keyboard r only one line (qwertyuiop) there are no backspace, enter, or other alphabets on the keyboard. I restarted it but it didnt work. so i leave it until now.

You do confuse me a bit, you said 7 in your pm not 7 plus. I'll assume you do mean 7 plus P 6200 or P 6210.
Give me a while, I need to check something out on my Tab. Back soon

Unfortunately on my 7 plus in SCREEN- under LOCK SCREEN I only have wallpaper option, so I must clearly have a mistake in my OS and I cannot lock my screen to test for you. The motion issue will not be a part of your problem. I would have thought your password could not contain any spaces, what happens when you long press on that line of letters.
My tab is password protected and after the start up, I get the sun rise screen and an empty box. I long press on the empty box and a full keyboard comes up.
Do you have the sunrise screen?

It came as standard on the Honeycomb 7 plus, it's the screen that follows the start up logo.
Bart Laroc thinks you need to do a factory re set, you will find details of how to do that in several places in here. I will add it into this message in a minute, so don't reply yet.
As you cant get into the settings menu at all, you will probably have to do the second reset option.
If you don't want to do this just yet, you could wait for someone else to come along who may have locked their tab to but it's very quiet in here atm so you may be waiting a while.

it looks like you need to do a Hard ReSet
This setting erases all data from your device, including
your Google or other email account settings, system and application data and settings, and downloaded applications. After
a reset, you’ll be prompted to set up your device the next time you turn it on.
1. With the device off, press and hold Volume Up and Power.
2. Release the Power button when you see the Samsung logo, but continue to hold Volume Up until the recovery screen appears.
3. Use the Volume buttons to navigate the menu and select wipe data / factory reset. Press Home to choose the selection.
4. Press Volume Up continue.
The Galaxy Tab should then go through the hard reset process & Reset to Factory Settings

I don't recognise that short form keyboard at all. So if nothing happens when you press on the empty typing box, do as Bart advises. Good luck
