I have the Tab 2 7.0 Gt p3110 running on android 4.0.4, Thanks for the reply but I can't seem to find a solution,in Kies it asks if I would like to use the ex sd card first I have ticked that box and the movie files still end up on the devices internal memory.

This will probably be down to me being a NOOB as you put it but it still has me baffled

Personally, I never use Kies to transfer files. Assuming you are using Windows7, open "Computer", then the tablet (under "portable devices"), then drag-and-drop your movie file to the "tablet" (internal tab memory) or "card" (the removable SD card) in the folder of your choosing. Other operating systems will differ, but the general idea is the same.

Or, you can use the "ES File Explorer" app on your tab to connect to a shared folder on your network and copy/paste that way as well.

I put my micro SD card in a usb card reader, copy files (movies, music) to it, put the card back in, and use a file manager to click on the one I want. This invokes whatever video or audio player choices that are on my unit. I find it easier and faster than via the tethered connection.

When I bought my Tab 2 7.0 nobody told me that I can´t move apps to external SD-Card. Today, I spent 10 € on 8Gb card & it does not work. Soon, I will visit T-Mobile shop.
Is there any way to move apps to external storage ?

No, but you can put files on the MicroSD Card via a PC, such as Music, Video, and Photo's.........and your Tab should be able to access them...

I installed the 32 GB miroSDHC card yesterday on my new GT. It showed up in the My Flies area. Today it is not showing up. Neither is it showing up in the settings area. And I can't pull it out of the machine. Anybody else having this problem? I'm hoping I've done something pretty stupid and there is an easy fix for this.

You didn't by any chance dismount the SD card by accident? That would make it not visible in My Files (or any other file manager). Or, it might not be making solid connection. Or, the card itself could be bad (not very common).

As far as physically removing it, I have a heck of a time trying to remove the SDcard as well - it's just too darn small for my fingers. I usually resort to using tweezers or needle-nose pliers (gently of course) to remove it. Normally, you'd open the little "door", push in on the card to activate the release (it comes out a little at this point), and then pull it the rest of the way out.

Hi - My wife and I bought two P3113s. Her's seems faster when accessing anything stored on the extSdCard (off-line maps, music, movies, books, etc).

I installed SD Card Tester and was surprised by the performance results on the external sd cards. (Cards 1 and 2 are identical Sandisk Ultra 32GB class 10)

Tablet 1, card 1: write speed= 6.1MB/s read speed= 14.9MB/s (avg of 3 tests)
Tablet 1, card 2: write speed= 5.9MB/s read speed= 14.7MB/s (avg of 3 tests)

Tablet 2, card 1: write speed= 5.7MB/s read speed= 5.7MB/s (avg of 3 tests)
Tablet 2, card 2: write speed= 5.6MB/s read speed= 5.9MB/s (avg of 3 tests)

Regardless of the card used, Tablet 2's read speed is much slower. I reformatted each card in Tablet 2, re-ran the tests and had the same result.

Can anyone tell me, Is my tablet slow or is my wife's tablet exceptionally fast?

If someone else wants to try this, here is how I did the test.
1. Install SD Card Tester (free) from Play Store
2. Go to Task Manager then Ram manager and press Clear Memory
3. Start SD Card Tester
4. Set path to /mnt/exSdCard
5. Leave file size set to 300MB
6. Press Start Test and wait for completion
7. Write speed is on the left, read speed is on the right
8. Run test two more times and average times

Any help would be appreciated.

Technical notes:
- Both tablets are running 4.0.4
- Both cards are Sandisk Ultra 32GB class 10, UHS-1
- In SD Card Tester, the path was /mnt/exSdCard using a 300MB file size (using larger files gave the same result - it just took longer to complete each test)

To truly test the card properly, I would run the test on both cards using the same tablet. You may have background app(s) that are reading from the card which would make it appear slow.

I think that's what the OP did. Just curious.
thanks, Douglas
Looks to me that his tab#2 is the culprit.

Briang - I did test both cards in each tablet. Tablet 2 is always slower.

A friend of mine tested a third P3113 running 4.0.4 and it couuld only do 6.3MB/s!

How many tablets can actually get above 10MB/s? Class 10 cards should read at 13 - 15MB/s with compatible hardware.

Can anyone test their P3113 with a class 10 card?

I am beginning to suspect many units may not read faster than 5-6 MB/s.

I own the Samsung GALAXY Tab 2 7.0 WiFi device. Its built-in memory (8GB) is extended with a 32GB micro SDHC memory card.

1. For how long should I charge my device for the first time?
2. How do I store PDF and MP3 files from my laptop directly to the memory card, while it is inserted into the
device?

Thanks,
David
