on my recently purchased Samsung 8.9, i can access yahoo mail either via the mail app or by going via the yahoo home page. either way, i am not able to find either the address book or the option that allows me to search for specific parameters in previous messages. has anyone encountered these situations before? and hopefully found the solution? thanks for help you can give.

I'm new to android - there is much î don't understand. I too use yahoo. I'm a long time yahoo user so like/prefer it 'straight'. What i've seen is that it is possible to view/operate yahoo on tab just like on a windows desktop. However, 'something' - I suspect yahoo, trys to get in the way of that. What apears to happen is that yahoo recognizes a tab/android user and sends it to a differant URL - look for the first letter in the addres bar being 'm' - ie, something like m.yahoo.com/...... If I delete the 'm.' From the URL and hit enter I often get on the 'normal' site. Mail, is something of a mixed bag - sometimes it is 'normal' - sometimes not. When not I observe android/mobile parameters in the url - words like 'widget'.
I have no idea of the pros/cons of mobile yahoo vs 'normal' yahoo vs android app yahoo - worse, I have no idea where one learns these things. The internet is full of 'how to' information, but no 'why' information - and no pros/cons. For instance in this age of cloud computing inter-computer access running native MS EXCEL should not be difficult - so why/when should someone choose some mobile clone, or mobile yahoo mails, etc? I wish I had the answers or knew where to find them.
