Bogus Battery upgrade warning This happened to me

This is a copy and paste of an old warning in the 7" section from Oct 2011 but it has just happened to me in the last few days so I thought I would bring it to this sections attention also.
In my case it was a direct notification but being a clever Moderator I didn't do it of course :D


Bogus 'Battery Upgrade' Warnings

Scareware has gone mobile: Users of Android devices are starting to see sleazy ads warning that they need to upgrade their device's battery. The supposed battery-saver apps that those ads prod you to download, however, could endanger your privacy or siphon money from your wallet--and generally they'll do nothing to improve your gadget's battery life, security experts say.

EDIT - 25/3/12 Since uninstalling "1Atlas app" these notifications have stopped, so it may be a recently installed App that starts them off for you.
