In my case it was a direct notification but being a clever Moderator I didn't do it of course

The supposed battery-saver apps that those ads prod you to download, however, could endanger your privacy or siphon money from your wallet--and generally they'll do nothing to improve your gadget's battery life, security experts say.

EDIT - 25/3/12 Since uninstalling "1Atlas app" these notifications have stopped, so it may be a recently installed App that starts them off for you.
